Using a Java Applet to Compare Images Across the Internet
- General procedure:
- Get copies of both images from Internet
- Warp one image to the geometry of the other image if needed
- Then visually compare them using image flickering
- Running an applet in the user's Web browser now permits us to:
- Deliver GUI Flicker software over the Internet to user's
computer
- Do real-time processing locally on user's computer
- Get image data from the Internet or researcher's laboratory
- Do image enhancement with spatial warping, edge, grayscale
transforms, etc.
- Flicker compare images to find differences
