- Plasma 2D PAGE gels, the plasmaH (Hochstrasser Lab, Geneva) vs plasmaL (Merril Lab, NIMH, Bethesda). It uses the plasmaDB plasma database which identifies some of the proteins in these gels.

This is a demonstration plasma protein database is derived from data from the Protein Disease Database and the plasma protein database in SWISS-2DPAGE. It uses a simple database search engine dbEngine to both access a table of protein data and to indicate a database entry by clicking on a spot in a 2D gel. This database could be used as a model for publishing other 2D gel (or other image based-) data on the Web using dbEngine. This would be done by editing the database files to correspond to the new data.

Search The Plasma Database

The database may be searched to find entries matching a key phrases in any of the data for that entry.

Search the Plasma Database by specifying search terms below (one per entry). Each entry is searched for the conjunction (i.e. AND) or disjunction (i.e. OR) of the terms. [Note terms may be any part of a database entry but may not include any spaces.]

Enter search terms (you may use either AND or OR term connectives):

The "AND" is required because of the space. Search is case-independent. [Note: currently you can use either all AND connectives or all OR connectives - but not both.]
Eg. use "PL0" to find all plasmaDB proteins.
Eg. use "P0" to find all plasmaDB proteins which have SWISS-2DPAGE plasma protein entries.
