426 where you will get a visitor's badge and

Fort Detrick
traffic code
prohibits
the use of hand-held
cell phones, Blackberries or similar items, such
as personal data assistants, while driving on
post. This code is now in effect and applies to
all motorists operating a vehicle on Fort
Detrick, to include visitors.
How To Get Here From Washington D.C.
Driving
If you drive, you can come up the route 270 spur from Washington D.C to Frederic, or along route 70 from Baltimore.
The time to get from Dulles International Airport to Frederick is about 40 minutes. After leaving the airport on its access road there are two ways to get here from Dulles. One is to go to the Washington Beltway and then north on route 270 (an hour). The other is to take route 28 north, route 7 east, route 15 north and then route 340 (about 40 minutes). When you reach Frederick, you turn north onto route 15 and follow the instructions below.

Driving Instructions
Starting from from DC,
- Take 270 north to Frederick.
- 270 turns into Route 15 north at route 70. Stay in the left two lanes.
- Pass Patrick Street.
- Take the Rosemont exit off of Route 15 north.
- At the bottom of the exit bear right.
- Continue on Rosemont until the stoplight for Old Farm Gate on the right. Visitors must enter at Old Farm Gate.
- A google search shows where Old Farm Drive is: Frederick maryland map old farm drive. You turn right into Fort Detrick at the intersection with Rosemont.
- You will need to stop and show a picture ID and they will check your car.

- Get your badge in building 426. The guards can call me (x5581) and I can pick you up.
Instructions for Coming by Subway and Bus
- you can use the
Metro
to get to the NIH campus
by taking the Red Line to Shady Grove and
getting off at the Medical Center stop.

Once you are at the
NIH campus
you can walk to building
45, 31 or 10.
You can also take the
Bethesda campus shuttle.

From one of those buildings, take the NCI-Frederick/NIH Daily Shuttle Service to get to the Frederick campus. Note the times!

Once you are on the NCI-Frederick campus, you will be at building 426.
You will be at building 426, where you can be picked up.
